When I was a child my grandfather told me that with a name like Cassidy Swinger, I had to do great things. I grew up, moved to Italy, started a family and found a job I loved in fashion. Life could not have been greater. Then, on the morning of the 25th of August, I woke up with the worst headache of my life. Within a few hours I had a massive brain aneurysm in front of my children, then 4 and 7 years old. When I finally woke up in the ICU, I realized I was entirely paralyzed on the left side of my body, barely able to feed myself.  Eventually, I was transferred to a private rehabilitation clinic, where after 3 months of intense physiotherapy I was told I would never walk again. According to my Doctor, I had a remarkable recovery, it was time for me to come to terms with my situation. I consider myself lucky, from the moment I opened my eyes I was filled with gratitude. Grateful that I was still alive, overjoyed by the fact that I had been given a second chance at life, that I would continue to watch my children grow.
I will never stop in my quest to get better physically and mentally.
